CommentThe Lois Hopkins 1873 gravestone was apparently removed from WG028 and moved one-quarter mile north on New London Turnpike between 1893 and 1970. It was recorded there in 1970 by Blanche Albro. It was recorded there in 1986 by the Public Archaeology Lab. It was recorded there in 1992 by John Sterling. This gravestone was found standing in a base, in a swamp, behind a stone wall on the east side of New London Turnpike. Further research found that James Arnold recorded this gs in the Rufus Hopkins Lot, WG028 in 1893. In 2010 Bob and Charlene Butler returned the gravestone to its proper place in WG028. This cemetery, WG067, is no longer a registered historical cemetery.
