CommentThis lot is located 1600 feet north of Nicholas Road at the junction with Greenhouse Road at telephone pole #23. Follow the power lines north at telephone pole #23. Go from pole #1 to pole #8 on the power line easement (about 1600 feet). At pole #8 go east (downhill) into the woods for 560 feet to the cemetery. The cemetery is 50 ft x 30 ft, in good condition, and has no enclosure. There are 14 burials with one inscribed stone. James N. Arnold visited this lot on 12 Aug. 1905 and noted, “On the old John Rice farm in midst of pine woods, is a burial yard of his family, no protection…grave on left that of John Rice” (Vol. 6, Book B, page 1224). Arnold thought the lot also contained John Rice’s parents. Found, registered and recorded by Dr. Bill Eddleman and John Sterling for a 1998 book on Coventry cemeteries.
