Comment | This lot is located 900 feet north of Town Farm Road at telephone pole #36. The cemetery is behind the house at #672 Town Farm Road, 800 feet west of the David Salisbury Lot (Coventry Historical Cemetery #38). Follow the access road at telephone pole #36 back to the David Salisbury Lot. Walk to the dam west of the David Salisbury Lot. Cross the dam and then go 200 feet northwest, up a slight hill in the pine woods to this cemetery. The cemetery is 40 ft x 40 ft, in good condition, and has no enclosure. There are 10 burials with three inscribed stones and one fieldstone.
James N. Arnold visited this lot on 19 Aug. 1904 and noted, “Back of the David Salisbury saw mill across the dam in the edge of the woods, a burial lot of the Weaver family, lot getting to be badly neglected, not well protected” (Vol. 6, Book H, page 1344).
Found, registered and recorded by Dr. Bill Eddleman and John Sterling for a 1998 book on Coventry cemeteries. |
